Mondial was founded in Stockholm in 2019 by three people who could not find the clothes they wanted to wear.

We were tired of garments that felt provisional — plastic labels, fusible interlinings, seasons arriving before the last one had worn in. So we made a small collection with three principles: natural fibres only, small production runs, and nothing released until it was ready.

Today the studio employs fourteen people: five pattern cutters, four finishers, a dyer, a carpenter who builds our forms, and three of us who started it. We produce twice a year — autumn/winter and spring/summer. When a piece is right, we keep it. Our trench has been in the collection unchanged for four seasons.

Our wool comes from Biella in northern Italy, from mills that have been weaving since the 1870s. Our knits are made in Hawick, Scotland, on machines older than most of us. Leather is tanned in Tuscany using vegetable bark — a slower process than chrome tanning, which is why fewer makers do it, and why our bags age the way they do.

We ship globally. We offer thirty days to return anything that doesn't work. We repair our own garments for as long as you want to keep wearing them.

The goal is simple: fewer pieces, made carefully, worn for a long time. Nothing in a hurry.
